The boys insisted to play outside in the water, but it was way too cold and they were all freezing within a few minutes. I can't believe I am saying that Las Vegas is too cold, I never thought I would say that. But things are really cooling down rather nicely.

Fun Weekend

We had such a fun weekend I am not even sure where to begin. My mom, sister, other sister and her husband with their two kids came down and spent the weekend with us. We did a lot of fun things, but the highlight of the trip was the girls all went othe Celine Dion Concert on Saturday night. It was such a great concert and it was even better to do it with my mom and sisters. Even if you don't like Celine Dion there was enough entertainment with the other dancers, props, and special effects. We had quite the adventure with me driving shawn's car down the strip, not to mention getting out of the parking garage at Caesar's Palace.

Fun Family Time

Yesterday after dinner the kids were outside coloring with chalk on the patio. Ethan wanted Shawn to trace his body. Ethan had fun drawing his face, hair, and some clothes on the body. But what really got Shawn and I laughing was Ethan made sure his little picture was anatomically correct. He was so casual about adding some boy body parts that we couldn’t help but laugh. Cole decided to mow the rocks with his pretend lawn mower while he was naked. It seems to be a constant theme lately-Naked Cole. Ever since we got him potty trained he decided that he prefers to be naked. It is an uphill battle to get undies on him. And then once he is dressed he just undresses. After the kids were done playing outside Shawn decided it would be funny to turn on the hose and drench them. They too thought that was funny. They have no fear of the water or getting plastered in the face. Loo Loo is just shy of six months and she is all over the place rolling on her head scooting around. I might be in big trouble with her. Shawn is just finishing his ER rotation and will start at Sunrise Children’s on the wards this coming Monday. He is really excited and loves being at Sunrise Children’s Hospital. Today at their noon conference the director of the program came up to Shawn and asked if he would be willing to do some research with him for a big conference coming up in a few months. Shawn was really excited and I am so proud of him. He works so hard every hour of the day. He is such a great dad trying to balance family and work, and he does an amazing job.

Field Trip Day

Today for Ethan's preschool we went on a field trip to the Apple Orchard. Can you believe Las Vegas has an apple orchard? It was funny because this morning Ethan was getting read to go and he said, "Mom, I want to look nice today for my field trip." So I asked him what else he wanted to wear because he was already dressed. He said, "I want to wear my hat and some nice socks." What a simple request. I thought it was funny how he thought that would make him look nice. Anyway, we had a fun time at the Orchard. We picked some apples, had some apple cider, and learned about Johnny Appleseed. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks for the pumpkin patch with the family. Cole was mad he didn't get to come, but Shawn took him to the store and bought him a box of donuts. Next time I might stay home with Shawn if he will buy me a box of donuts.

Bye Bye Bunk Beds

Today we said goodbye to the bunk beds. Ethan and Cole have loved having bunk beds, but this past week my naughty little monkey (a.k.a. Cole) decided that it is fun to climb up to the top and jump off. Don't worry-he piled a bunch of pillows at the bottom on the floor (like that really helps). To make things worse, Shawn has a patient in the hospital right now who broke his neck falling off a bunk bed. Despite how naughty our boys are we really do love them, so needless to say Shawn and I took the beds down. The kids didn't really seem to care, they think they have a new room now with different beds. Hopefully this way we can preserve our children's lives a bit longer! And not have to make any trips to the emergency room.

Primary Comments

I was recently put in the primary so now I get to spy on Ethan and see how he behaves. It has been a little hard because ever since I was put in there he acts out of control, won't stay in his seat, won't sing songs, etc. The presidency has commented that he never acted like this before. So we are working on this, but it is really funny to be able to hear what he has to say when they ask questions. Ethan immediately raises his hand when any question is asked. He has two responses, "Jesus", or "be nice to my brother." No matter what the questions is he always says one of those or another variation of be nice to my brother, like don't hit your brother, or share with your brother. The primary must think all he and Cole do is fight because all his comments revolve around being nice to his brother. It is really fun to hear what your little ones learn.

Olivia's First Hair-do!

Livy finally has enough hair for a little ponytail on top-well, barely. This is my first girl and as you can tell I was so excited to pull those four little hairs into a little ponytail. Livy didn't really like it and I need a lot of practice, but believe it or not I am kind of excited to learn how to do a girls hair. I hope she doesn't mind me practicing on her.

Bedtime Questions

Bedtime is my favorite time of the day. It is the only time all day that it is quiet and I actually feel like maybe I am sane. Every night after the kids go to bed Ethan calls me into his room usually around five to seven times for a crazy line of questioning. For example, "Do ants have noses?", "Did you clean that vent over there?", "What if a bear comes in my room?" and "Do we live by a forest?" Those are all real questions from last night-it must be when his mind is the most active. By the fifth time it gets pretty old and I am tired of running into his room for another crazy question. Last night the routine was the same and I was on my sixth journey back to his room. When I got in there this is what he said, "Mom, maybe you should go to sleep now and then you won't worry about us. Because it is thirty o'clock." I told him I thought that was a good idea and that I would love to go to sleep. If it were only that simple. I just thought his comment was so cute and thoughtful.

Dirty Feet

Last night the kids and I were outside watching the neighbor kid fly his little airplane. He has a three foot remote control airplane that the kids love to watch him fly around. Anyways, Cole didn't have any shoes on and was running around the road with a herd of kids. When we came inside this is what Cole's feet looked like. Surprisingly they cleaned up fairly easily.



Another funny thing happened. Cole was out in the middle of the road barefoot and no shorts-just Spiderman undies and t-shirt (I don't always let me kids run around like orphans-they were just having too much fun to stop them). Cole yanked down his undies and pulled out his little boy part and yelled "Mom, I got to pee." The kids laughed and I was really embarrassed. But we took care of it!

For some reason lately I am a little blog crazy, but I try to use this blog as a way to document my life and as a little journal. This way in twenty years I can remember all the fun things in my life that I might otherwise forget about. Now that I have that out of the way-on with more pictures from the park.

Ethan and Cole at the Park

Today we went to a park. Ethan and Cole were pretending that this little place was a restaurant. But, of course when I got the camera out the show was almost over. You get a short glimpse of their fun! It reminded me of when Ethan was young and we would go grocery shopping. We used to always get those carts with the cars that the kids ride in. As we would go through the line to check out he would reach up out of the car window like he was going through the drive through and say, "Cheeseburger Please". It was so cute!

Nice Weather

Can you believe that the weather was actually nice today in Las Vegas? It was low 70’s most of the day. I didn’t even have to turn on my air conditioner (thanks to my $200.00 bill last month). The kids and I decided we should go outside and ride bikes. I thought it would be a great idea, but I was wrong. Ethan didn’t show any interest in riding his bike, unless I was pushing him. Cole is a terror on his little Spiderman big wheel. Picture this- Cole crushing down the middle of the road (I couldn’t get him to stay on the side) while I am chasing after him with Livy in the Bjorn bouncing away. Ethan stuck in the middle of the road at the other end of the street yelling for me to come push him. I am sure if any of the neighbors were watching out their window they were laughing. Cole goes ten times faster than Ethan even thinks about and he only crashed three times. I am starting to wonder if getting Ethan to ride his bike is a futile attempt. Maybe we will wait another month or so and try again. This whole time Livy sat peacefully enjoying her ride in the Bjorn. I can’t believe I didn’t have my camera because there would have been some funny pictures.

On a side note, Ethan informed me today that my teeth are too yellow and I need to get them fixed. We were watching TLC’s Ten Years Younger and so I think that is where it came from-at least I hope.

Pucker Up

I was upstairs (of course not on the computer blogging) when the boys came to show me their new looks. They found my lipstick and decided to try it on and see if it was their color. What do you think? Maybe a little too brown.

Best Friends

Ethan and Cole are such good friends, most of the time. This was one of those times.

Liv helping with laundry

I was doing laundry yesterday and had to carry both the laundry basket and Livy downstairs. I had the basket in my hands and didn't know what to do with my cute Liv (and I was not about to walk up my stairs more than I had to). So, in the basket she went. She got buried in the clothes on the way down. I think she kind of enjoyed the ride, even with Spiderman undies all around her head.

Happy Anniversary to me!

Our anniversary is on September 30th, so this gift is a little early. I have been wanting to get some new bedding for a while and so this is what I got for my anniversary. Can you believe I talked Shawn into leopard pillows? I convinced him they are classy leopard pillows and not cheesy. Either way I thought they were cute! Now I just need some leopard lamps....ha ha!

Mission Impossible

Shawn calls this Liv's Mission Impossible pose. You know like on the movie when Tom Cruise is lowered into a room and has to hold his arms and legs up without touching the floor.

New Favorite Past Time

The boys new favorite thing to do is get in my shower. They think they have gone to a water park or something. The boys think it is really funny to smash their face against the store and for some reason Cole's big tongue always finds it way around the shower

Funny Moment of the Day

This morning Cole wanted to hold Livy. So he sat down on the couch and I handed her to him. I watched carefully as he lifted up his shirt and held Livy to his bare chest. He looked at me and said "Loo Loo hungry". My two year old boy tried to breast feed my little baby girl. It was way too funny and I shouldn't have laughed so hard, but I couldn't help myself. I guess I should be a little more discrete about feeding Olivia.

The Story of My Life.....

So, until now I have used my blog primarily for posting pictures of the family. I thought it might be fun to document a little more on the day to day things of life. This way you’ll get a good idea what my life is like as the mother to three kids, wife to a busy resident, cook, taxi cab driver, and maid. My life is busy and crazy (as I am sure many of yours are also), but I really do love my life and wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Today was a good day. Shawn was actually home-YEA! This past month he has been working in the ER, which means long shifts. It is usually great because you get time off between, but during his time off this past week he decided to bring home a yucky stomach bug from the hospital. So, he spent the time throwing up for a few days. Today we finally got some shopping done (which is always easier with Shawn to help with the kids). People give me such weird looks when I drag my three kids around by myself. They look as if they always feel bad for me. I finally got to Borders Book Store and got the new book I have been wanting. It is called Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I have heard such great things about it so I finally got around to getting it. The kids got new pajamas, which was way overdue. Ethan’s pajamas were starting to look like little short underwear. But it took ten minutes in the store to convince him that there were no Ninja Turtle pajamas. He settled for Power Rangers. Cole was easy, anything with CARS he likes. We went to Burger King for lunch and Cole needed to go potty. It is one thing to get your kids potty trained at home, but when you are out around town it is a different story. But Cole marched right in there and did it. He thought it was so fun he kept running back to the bathroom. Shawn had to chase him around Burger King to get him to come back. The boys watched a movie after dinner while Shawn and I relaxed so we had a good Saturday.

Liv's Dinner

Tonight for dinner Liv decided she would eat paper. It was really cute, but maybe it is time she advance for some real food. The milk just isnt' cutting it anymore, although by the look of her you would never think she is starving.

Sitting Time

Liv finally started sitting today. She is such a strong little baby, she is only five months old.

As you can tell after a few minutes of sitting she was mad. So she just rolled over and started to cry. I guess we will try again tomorrow. And of course I am the dumb mom who has to take a picture as their childs sits and cries. SORRY LIV!

Cole's Ear

I really don't abuse my children, although sometimes I would like to. This is Cole's new daily injury. He seems to daily get a new cut or bruise. He ran into a chair (maybe he should slow down a bit and watch where he is going) and hit his ear. It looks like I pinched him real hard or something. It looks pretty nasty, but he doesn't seem to care. I need to start documenting Cole's injuries in a photo book. That would be really interesting to look at when he gets older. (Dad-I think he is taking after you with all the injuries)
